Kay King | Principal
Miss Kay holds a Montessori Diploma and joined Young England Kindergarten in 1973.
After working as a teacher at the school for six years, Miss Kay then became a joint Principal for twelve years and took over the running of the school in 1989.
Lucinda Byron Evans | Head Teacher - Manager
Miss Lucinda began her teaching career doing work experience at Young England Kindergarten in 2000.
She then continued her training and gained a degree in Early Childhood studies, followed by a PGCE in Primary Education specialising in Early Years. Miss Lucinda obtained her QTS in June 2008 whilst teaching a reception class at Eaton House, The Manor School. Miss Lucinda re-joined Young England in 2009 and became Head Teacher in September 2011.
Lucy Oldman | Deputy Head Teacher
Miss Lucy started at Young England in September 2018 as Deputy Head Teacher.
She gained a PGCE in Early Years from Goldsmiths University in 2012 and has five years’ experience as an Early Years teacher. Miss Lucy also holds a BA Hons degree in Drama and Film Studies from the University of the West of England.
Jamie King | Asst. Deputy Head Teacher
Miss Jamie graduated from Leeds University with a joint honours BSc degree in Psychology and Philosophy.
She started her teaching career as a Year One teaching assistant at St. Nicholas Preparatory School in 2009. Miss Jamie continued her training at South Bank University where she gained a PGCE qualification. She worked as a Year Three teacher at St. Nicholas for two years before joining Young England in September 2013 as a Group Teacher for the older children in the morning sessions. Miss Jamie is currently on maternity leave.
Henry King | School Business Manager
Mr Henry has a BA Hons degree in Geography from Newcastle University and has previously worked within the PR and Marketing sector.
He worked for four years as a project manager at a firm that specialised in developing renewable energy projects until joining Young England in January 2013 as School Business Manager.
C-J Strudwick | Group Teacher
Miss C-J is a Montessori trained nursery teacher with extensive experience in nursery school teaching and childcare.
She has worked as a nursery teacher with Young England Kindergarten since September 1991 and teaches both the lower and upper groups. Miss C-J obtained a First Aid at Work qualification in March 2002 and is our designated First Aid official.
Esha Dhokia | Group Teacher
Miss Esha holds a PGCE in Early Years Teacher Training and a BA degree in Social Anthropology.
Prior to joining Young England in April 2019, Miss Esha spent six years teaching in two nursery schools. Miss Esha is a Group Teacher for the younger groups in our morning session.
Isabella af Petersens | Group Teacher
Miss Issy graduated from Newcastle University with a BA Hons degree in History.
She is a Montessori trained nursery teacher and has worked at two other nurseries prior to starting at Young England in September 2013. She teaches both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Alice Cadge | Group Teacher
Miss Alice joined Young England in September 2017 as a Group Teacher.
Miss Alice has a BSc degree in Fashion and Textiles, a Level 3 CACHE teaching qualification, and experience of teaching the Early Years age group.
Esther Ryan | Group Teacher & SENDCO
Miss Esther started at Young England in September 2018 as a Group Teacher and our Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator ‘SENDCO’.
Prior to Young England, she worked at Hedon Primary School for two years, as well as a variety of placements. Miss Esther completed a Masters in Education from the University of Cambridge in August 2018 and holds a degree in Classics from Exeter University.
Flora-Jane Cunningham | Teaching Assistant
Miss Flora started at Young England in September 2018 as a Nursery Assistant.
She completed a diploma course in 2017 from the Oxford Media and Business School. Miss Flora has a passion for working with the Early Years age group.
Mr JJ is part of 'Little Kickers' and comes into the kindergarten once every week for the hugely popular sports and fitness session.
The sessions use football as a fun forum to instil our growing squad with a little extra confidence, co-ordination, control and sense of camaraderie.
Miss Pippa runs our wonderful Pippa’s Poppet’s music classes which take place throughout the week.
Mr Archie holds our weekly ‘Tarka’ classes. Tarka’s classes have been designed with pediatric experts and healthcare professionals to optimise your child’s development in this period.
An excercise based and fun programme is designed to nurture your child’s coordination, communication skills and confidence.
Miss Sermin from Yogabugs delivers children's yoga inspired classes for our morning session.
Combining fun with exercise, children go on wild adventures where they may roar like a lion, fly like a bird or blast into outer space!
Miss Mona from Tatty Bumpkin teaches Yoga in our afternoon session.
Filled with fun, music and movement children are guided through creative and engaging routines. Concentration and physical confidence flourish as strength, balance and co-ordination skills grow.
Miss Ana from Nanos Spanish teaches Spanish in our morning session.
A well structured Spanish course for toddlers and pre school children, perfect to start learning a new language!
Miss Jonana from Little Mandarin teaches Mandarin Chinese in our morning session.
Introducing Mandarin Chinese through story-telling, role-play and British sign language!
