Young England Kindergarten

About Us

Young England Kindergarten is a family owned and run nursery school that was established in the early 1960’s.

Our Kindergarten is situated in a spacious setting next to the gardens of St George's Square which is located in Pimlico (City of Westminster). The setting is light, airy and has a stage at one end, plus an additional teaching room. We have access to the large lawned gardens in St George's Square, where we also have our school allotment, providing plenty of opportunity for outdoor play.

We have a two termly intake in January and September. Children can start at YEK in the term following their 2nd birthday in our Caterpillar Session (2 to 3 years old).

This session is comprised of five mornings a week, running from 8.45am to 12pm, Monday to Friday. When we feel your child is ready, they will then have the option to stay for afternoon school for up to three days on either a Monday, Wednesday and/or Thursday which extends the school day to 3pm.

Children move into our Butterfly Session (3 to 5 years old) when they are in their final academic year with us. All children in this session arrive at school for 8.45am and stay until 3pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 12pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. Tuesday is an optional afternoon and only available to children when we feel they are ready.

Our versatile style of teaching incorporates contemporary methods and maintains traditional values. This ethos stems from over 50 years of teaching experience at nursery level. At the heart of our approach is to give each child the best possible start to their lives.

Our highly capable team of staff have a wide ranging set of skills, which enables us to ensure that all of our children continue on to the next stage of their education with confidence and a genuine enthusiasm for learning.

Young England Kindergarten is registered under the children’s act 1989 and Ofsted 2002.
